Hi I’m April a licensed clinical social worker based in Oregon
I was born and raised in Portland Oregon, and attended Concordia University where I received a Bachelors in Social work (BSW) and then went on to complete a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) at George Fox University.
I’ve always been passionate about minimizing inequities, which is what originally drew me to the field of social work. This passion is also why I desire to increase access to anti-racist mental health spaces, where people can feel safe, validated, and supported.
My time in the mental health field has granted me the ability to work with a range of populations, including kids, adolescents, and those diagnosed with terminal illnesses. This diverse work has allowed me to obtain training in culturally focused trauma treatment, crisis intervention, and body-based approaches.
In my work I intentionally consider oppression, meaning systemic and structural forces impacting your mental health.
When I’m not working you can find me reading, traveling, or out in nature.
